Today, we lost one of the greatest salesmen of all time, Zig Ziglar. A family man, like many us in the Channel, Ziglar fell in love and married at a young age. Ziglar was different from his peers, he never settled for less and always strived to achieve more. He is known as “The Master of Motivation” and has been motivating small businesses and salesmen alike for decades. Sales men and women have been motivated and inspired from Ziglar’s corporate training program, numerous books, and speaking engagements around the nation. A nationally awarded speaker, he regularly attracted up to 20,000 people to attend his motivational seminars.

The driving factor of success for Ziglar was commitment. He encouraged salespeople to continue training and to never stop learning. This philosophy was carried through a number of his books, including Selling 101,Secrets of Closing the Sale, Born to Win, and many more. His motivational ideas permeate the sales process here at CharTec. Many of his teachings have been integrated into the messaging of many Academy sessions, and his work is recognized around the world; so recognized that it has been translated into more than 36 different languages.

Alex Rogers, our CEO, calls him the “Founding Father of Sales.” To other partners in the Channel, he is a teacher, a mentor, a leader, and a visionary. His legacy lives on through his children, who have already started to co-present speaking engagements around the nation. Today, we celebrate the life achievements of the undisputed king of sales motivation, inspiration, and education. Zig Ziglar, thank you for the countless people you have touched and the lives you have changed over the years.

I close with one of my personal favorite quotes:

“Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes.” – Zig Ziglar
